Support Our Work: Good Shepherd
Donate Now
We need your help to continue our work assisting Good Shepherd Poultry Ranch in their efforts to reinvent the American poultry industry. By pledging $15 per month, you'll help ensure that we can provide essential consulting services to Frank Reese and other progressive farmers across the country.
With the help of Farm Forward, Good Shepherd Poultry Ranch has completed construction on a new breeding barn and increased their production capacity by thousands of birds per year. While we've made tremendous progress, demand for heritage poultry still outpaces Good Shepherd's supply, and we still have a lot of work to do. If you're considering a larger donation, we'd love to discuss the ways a major gift could have a profound impact in our work supporting farmers like Frank Reese, one of the most humane and sustainable farmers in America. We hope to hear from you!
Without [Farm Forward's] ongoing support my work would come to a standstill." –Frank Reese, Good Shepherd Poultry Ranch
Become a Farm Forward Partner (Even if You Can’t Give a Dime)
We understand that not everyone is in a position to give as much as they would like, so we also invite you to pledge to raise funds from your friends, family, and colleagues. Especially with new Internet-based technologies, ordinary individuals can effectively raise funds as never before. Whether you pledge to raise $100 or $10,000, we’ll consider you a Farm Forward Partner—a member of our team. We will work with you personally to provide the tools and support you need to confidently approach others for donations. Send us an email expressing interest, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible with an individualized reply.
Other ways to get involved
- One of the most important—and one of the simplest—things you can do to help is sign up for the Farm Forward newsletter: All you have to do is enter your name and email address on the right. We won't spam you or share your email address with anyone, and this will help us keep you posted about our most important work. Having a large mailing list will help us apply for grants, threaten bad guys, and otherwise get the job done. It would also be great if you'd encourage others to do the same.
- Continue to be mindful of the food you buy and eat. A 2008 New York Times article reported that "if Americans were to reduce meat consumption by just 20 percent it would be as if we all switched from a standard sedan—a Camry, say—to the ultra-efficient Prius." We're currently working on programs that will help consumers all over the world find the most responsible companies and products, and we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in supporting this project specifically.
