Rev. Dr. Christopher Carter is Assistant Professor of Theology at the University of San Diego. His work explores how religion and the institution of factory farming affect food choices within the African American community. Chris is a United Methodist pastor, holds a seat on the steering committee for the prestigious Animals and Religion Group of the American Academy of Religion, and has been a Farm Forward Faith in Food Fellow since 2016. He is author of the book The Spirit of Soul Food.
